Overview

The ocean is still where 90% of world trade moves.

Even as air freight wins headlines, sea remains the only economically viable way to move volume globally. For FCL shippers, it's about tendering across the 10 global carriers (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen, COSCO, OOCL, ZIM, HMM) and locking the right contract for your annual volume.

For LCL, it's about reliable weekly consolidations out of the gateways — HCM, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Singapore, Shenzhen, Shanghai — and predictable transit times to the destination CFS. BCOLogix runs both as a single, dedicated practice with a team averaging 7+ years of carrier-side experience.

What makes the difference at the operational level isn't the booking — it's everything around it. Roll-over avoidance, demurrage/detention discipline, equipment availability tracking, and proactive ETA shifts. That's where most forwarders fail and where we earn our keep.

Why BCOLogix for Sea

Three things most
forwarders cut corners on.

Anyone can book a slot on a vessel. What separates a good forwarder from an average one happens in the 48 hours before ETD and the week after discharge.
01

Carrier-neutral tendering

We are not tied to one carrier's capacity. On every booking we tender across our contract matrix to find the right rate-speed balance for your specific lane and ETD — instead of pushing whichever slot is left in our allocation.

One bill · one coordinator · multiple carriers
02

FMC-licensed for US trade

BCOLogix holds an FMC OTI license, making us your NVOCC of record for US-bound cargo. We are bond-covered, listed on FMC's public registry, and authorized to issue our own House Bill of Lading.

FMC + VLA · verifiable on public registries
03

Roll-over & D&D discipline

We monitor every booking 48-72 hours before ETD against the carrier's actual loading list. Roll-over risk is escalated before it happens, with backup carriers staged for high-risk lanes. Free time tracked at destination so demurrage surprises do not land in your invoice.

What's the minimum cargo size for FCL vs LCL?
FCL has no minimum — you can ship a half-empty 20'DC if it makes economic sense for you. LCL starts at 1 CBM and is priced by W/M (weight or measure, whichever is higher). The break-even point between LCL and FCL is usually around 12-15 CBM depending on the lane.
How do you handle rollovers?
We monitor every booking against the carrier's actual loading list 48-72h before ETD. If our shipment is at risk of rollover (carrier overbooked), we escalate to the carrier rep and have a backup carrier ready. In 2025 our rollover rate was under 1.2% across all lanes.
What free time do I get at destination?
Standard free time on FCL is 7 days for storage and 5 days for detention, but we negotiate extensions (typically up to 14 + 10 days) for regular shippers as part of the lane rate. We track all your containers' free time and flag when D&D risk is approaching — so you avoid surprise invoices.
Do you offer reefer (refrigerated) service?
Yes — 40' HRF (high-cube reefer) is our default reefer box. Temperature range −25 °C to +25 °C, set-point verified at stuffing and at every transshipment. We also supply GenSet for off-power trucking segments and provide data-logger reports on arrival.
Are you licensed for US trade (FMC)?
Yes. BCOLogix holds an FMC (Federal Maritime Commission) OTI license, which lets us act as an NVOCC of record for shipments to and from the US. This means we issue our own HBL, are listed on FMC's public registry, and bond-cover your shipment.
Can you handle OOG and breakbulk cargo?
Yes — out-of-gauge on flat-rack or open-top, and full breakbulk on conventional vessels. We do route surveys, design lashing/securing plans and book with carriers that have OOG slots on the lane. For very heavy lifts we'll consider charter or roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) alternatives.
